Call for Workshop Proposals
In addition to the technical-scientific main program, the workshop program always represents an essential part of the conference program. Through the open workshop format, it is even possible to promote new subfields of software engineering and achieve strong networking and cooperation between academia and industry. Accordingly, workshop proposals that offer an explicit practical reference and are, for example, (co-)organized by industry experts will be given preference in the selection process. In principle, all topics with a clear software engineering reference are possible workshop topics.
The Software Engineering (SE) conference of the German Informatics Society (GI) will take place from 24 - 28 February 2025. The organization is managed by the research group SDQ (https://sdq.kastel.kit.edu/) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The workshops will be held on 24 - 25 February 2025. Half-day or full-day workshops can be proposed.
The GI LNI template should be used for submissions. Proposals can be submitted at any time via EasyChair.
Workshop proposals should include the following information and should not exceed three pages:
- Information about the organizing team with full contact details and a main contact person.
- Description of the organizing team’s background experience (both in terms of workshops and in general).
- Desired length (half-day / full-day workshop).
- Title, acronym, topic (including motivation why this topic is important for SE 2025).
- Expected outcomes (work objectives) of the workshop.
- Summary (max. 150 words) for the workshop presentation on the SE 2025 website. It is expected that the workshop will create its own additional website upon acceptance.
- Explanation of the planned procedure. It should be clear what proportion of the workshop will be dedicated to discussions and presentations and how the organizing team plans to stimulate discussions.
- List of program committee members (proposals and already obtained commitments).
- Explanation of the advertising strategy.
- Explanation of the selection process for workshop contributions (this must meet scientific standards).
- Indication of the expected and minimum number of participants. For new workshops: justified estimate; for workshops that have been held before: empirical values.
- Description of the necessary room equipment and other organizational requirements.
